Recommended reading:

“Trials and Tribulations: The Military Aeroplane Competition At Larkhill 1912”, by Society Committee member Terry Grace. In 1912 the government was finally waking up to the potential of the aeroplane in a war that many realised was inevitable. The War Office announced that it would hold a competition to find the best military aeroplane for what was then the Air Battalion but was to become the Royal Flying Corps. The proceeds from the book will go to The John Mcneil Opportunity Centre and Riding for the Disabled at the Pembroke Centre. Available from the History Bookshop in Fisherton Mill or Amazon.

“Bygone Salisbury”, by Frogg Moody – a compilation of his articles from the Salisbury Journal.

“Murder in Arundel”, by Ruby Vitorino Moody – her first novel and a good read. Yes, have just finished reading this book, Ruby has introduced some great characters and a lively plot which keeps one turning the pages. Recommended. TJG

Latter two available from the Rocketship Bookshop (next to Barclays Bank) and the History Bookshop.
